Sewer and Water Billing

Sewer and water is billed on a monthly basis. Bills are sent out the first week of the month and are due no later than the 30th of each month. Reading are remotely read.
If for some reason you do not receive a bill please contact the city, please do not wait until the due date to contact the city on this matter.
Bills consist of the previous months usage (i.e., a bill sent out January 1st would be the SW usage for the previous Month December).
*In 1999 the city adopted the Flat Rate Charge - Currently it is $24.00. This rate is charged whether water and sewer is being used or not, as long as the property is connected to city water and sewer services. This Charge can be adjusted as needed by the city council.
*Bills are calculated on gallons used. Water rates are.00585 per gallon or $5.58 per 1000 gallons used. Sewer Rates are .01133* per gallon of water used or $11.33 per 1000 gallons. * Adjusted 3/2021
In order to cover operating costs/repairs of the Sewer and Water System the City Council is obligated to adjust Water and Sewer Rates and Fees by resolution from time to time.
Late fees are 10% of the total due.
If a letter of Delinquency/Disconnection is mailed out a $25.00 Administrative Fee is added to the past due amount.
The city staff cannot remove any fees/charges without prior approval from city council.
In April of each year the city collects a Wastewater Permit Fee of $6.00. This money goes to paying for the Permit required by the State.
In July of each year the city is required by the Minnesota Department of Health to collect $9.32 from each connection.
